NATURE AND HIKING TOURISM IN BULGARIA

- Rila national park is the largest one. It has 4 conservation areas with centuries old woods and over 3000 animal species. Here are situated the highest peak in Bulgaria – Musala – 2925m. and the famous Seven Rila Lakes.
- Pirin national park is a UNESCO World Heritage Place. It is famous for its extreme and adventurous hiking and climbing routes and the second highest peak in Bulgaria – Vihren.
- Central Balkan park is situated in the heart of Bulgaria and it has amazing variety of animal and plant species, 580km of marked routes and many tourist chalets and shelters.
- Vitosha Natural Park - its best advantage is the very close location to the capital. It is the most visited and favorite one of many people living in Sofia. It also has a lot of eco trails and it is perfect to relax during the weekend.
- Conservation parks in Bulgaria are many and each one has its own charm. Some of the most famous ones are Srebarna with its beautiful lake and 221 bird species, Rusenski Lom with its caves and rock formations, Ropotamo, Water-Lily, Kamchia and more.
- Natural Phenomena like Stone wedding, Stone mushrooms, Standing stones, Chudnite skali, Belogradchik rocks and more.
- Last but not least, Bulgaria has a lot of amazing caves – Ledenika, Yagodinska Devil’s throat and probably the most famous one, because of its ancient paintings - Magurata.
